A Bit About Me
Rabia Deetjent is a dual American-German citizen who speaks English as her native language. She lived in Amman, Jordan for four years where she studied Modern Standard Arabic and the Leventinte Dialect at the prestigious Qasid institute. She later moved to Germany and studied German at the Aristotelis Institute of Bremen. Most recently, she completed her BA Degree in International Studies at Columbia University in New York City.
About my Classes
I use the custom-made Meridian Arabic program. I also take advantage of many secondary sources such as Thackstons arqbic grammar guide, the Cambridge grammar reference, al-Arabiyya Bayna Yadayk for higher-level readings, and occasionally assorted readings from classical works of Arabic literature (and even songs!).
Availability
I am available Sunday through Friday, between the hours of 14:00 - 22:00 Istanbul time. Saturdays I am unavailable. Email me directly to arrange classes outside these hours.
